Dr. Bruno Zheng Wu is an accomplished and experienced entrepreneur in the Chinese investment and media industries, incorporating sound progressive ideologies with real-world international business perspectives as the guiding principles of his business foundation. Dr. Wu was the former Chairman of Sun Media Group (1999-2007) and Director of Shanda Entertainment (2006 to 2009). Since 2009, he has been serving as the Co-Chairman and CEO of Sun Seven Stars Investment Group. Starting October 2023, he has been the first Head of the Secretariat of the World Sustainability Standards Organization (WSSO) supported by the Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST). Starting January 2024, he will the first Board Chairman of Central Bank Digital Currency Collaboration Organization (CBDCCO).
He also served as Co-Chairman of Sina Corp from 2001 to 2002 and played a pivotal role in its business transformation.
Dr. Wu previously served as Chief Operating Officer from 1998 to 1999 at Asia Television, one of the two preeminent television stations in Hong Kong at the time. Dr. Wu greatly increased viewership and ratings by successfully enhancing its operations and improved the station’s financial outlook.
Dr. Wu has served many years as an Independent Director of Shanda Entertainment and has made significant and transformative contributions towards innovating industry-wide business models.
